RelievingLetter is a SaaS application for securing and verifying digital documents, rendering them tamper-proof. It uses encryption and blockchain technology that makes it free from the possibility of tampering, loss of critical data and reliance on unknown third parties. It is intended for use of organizations which have one or more users, and which want employee exit-related documents to be securely and independently verified by anyone (inside or outside the organization).

RelievingLetter consists of a web portal (relievingletter.com), compatible with all major web browsers

Any organisation can apply online to create an account through the RelievingLetter Portal. Sign up is instant and comes with a free 30-day trial allowance

Once an organization has set up an account, with RelievingLetter, the owner (initiator) can add other members, as authorized signatories. There is no upper limit to the number of users that can be added.

The organization can apply for a “verified” status. They will be contacted to complete the registration process. A manual KYC process will be done, that is usually completed in less than 2 working days

Yes, each account is uniquely identified by their email address and phone number

Simply log in with your user credentials, upload the document to be secured and submit it. It is immediately converted into a secure form and an authenticity record (main details including timestamp) is written to the blockchain.

Entries written to the blockchain usually take a few minutes to process, as this is the way blockchain architecture works. Don’t worry! You can continue working on other documents, and the system will automatically update the status of the document, once the blockchain write is completed

Costly background verification can be eliminated completely, as the authenticity of the document can be established with a few clicks. This can save thousands of rupees in costs, and weeks of delay

At present, RelievingLetter supports input in .pdf, .doc and .docx. More formats will be available in future releases

The signed RelievingLetter document will always be a PDF document. The original document is converted to PDF format upon upload. An additional page will be appended to the original document, which will contain the important security details. The final document will simply be the source document and the appended page together in a single PDF file, which is available for viewing and sharing

There is no need for a hard copy at any stage in the process. The input document is expected to be in digital form, in one of the accepted formats (see above). After securing it with the app, RelievingLetter will generate a soft copy signed document.

The document can be verified in a few clicks by drag-and-drop (or selecting) on the RelievingLetter Portal home page (Verify Letter option). What is great about this feature is that you need not have to be registered with RelievingLetter to verify the document. This allows for true third-party verification.

- Secured at the user access level by passwords.
- At the document level, it uses a hashing function for tamper-proofing.
- Finally at the record keeping level it uses Blockchain for storing immutable verification information.
The blockchain entry only stores summary data to ensure authenticity. The document content itself is never stored on the Blockchain or in any publicly accessible form.

Before the expiry of the free trial period, the organisation has to get verified for continued usage. There is a small annual fee for the verified status, priced according to organisation size.
